Seacoast 20 AWG has a conductor made of bare copper wire. The stranded bare copper conductors are insulated with the cross linked polyethylene.
The insulation has a tin-coated copper or braided shield of two polyester tapes, in accordance to Standard Identification Code of method
2. The jacket is made of a thermoplastic polyamide layer for protection in the marine environment and an outer interlocking aluminum armor
strip. It has surface markings are to avoid confusions during installations.
Features
Polyethylene insulation improves the electrical conductivity of this cable by keeping it safe from corrosive chemicals and deformations
experienced especially during installation. Polyethylene (PE) is an excellent thermoplastic insulating material that creates a boundary
between the conductors and the grounding wires preventing contacts between them whichmay cause power faults.
The insulation shielding of this cable is the stress controlling layer ensuring that the copper conductors are not directly affected by impacts. Braided shield of instrumentation and control cables prevents the signals from distortion by electrical noise. It also decreases the rate of electromagnetic radiation emission. This cable is armored with a strong interlocking aluminum strips making it an economical optionfor conduit system installations.
Applications
This cable is designed and manufactured to serve in marine wirings for applications of power distributions not exceeding 300V.
