Product Details
This is a high temperature annealed tinned copper wire designed for use in applications where there is need to protection against mechanical abuse, abrasion, moisture absorption, and fluid contact. A tin coating on the wire improves its performance, resistance to corrosion, and increases the shelf life of the cable. Copper, when exposed to air, it oxidizes. In high temperatures reaching 100 degrees or more, the ability of the copper wire to resist corrosion reduces thus making tin coating a valuable part of the wire.
Applications
• For use in industrial high temperature environments
• For use in applications of up to 200 degrees Celsius requiring up to 600 volts
• Multiple conductor cables insulated and jacket with FEP Teflon are widely used in industrial high temperature applications where resistance to abrasion and mechanical abuse coupled with moisture or fluid resistance are desired.
• The braided FEP/FEP multiple conductor is mainly used in applications within steel and glass plants. It is ideal for use in high temperature locations such as near boilers, in chemical processing plants, and near steam lines. The FEP/FEP multiple conductor wires preferred where small diameter is required in applications and where there is need for abrasion, fluid, and moisture resistance as well as resistance to mechanical abuse. It is used above or below grade in conduit, raceways, or tray.
Insulation
• Extruded fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP)
• This wire is insulated with an extruded PEP material consisting of a fiberglass braid cover in each conductor. The braid is further enhanced by treating it with high temperature and moisture resistance finish.
Outer covering
• Extruded fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP)
• An outer jacket made of extruded PEP is used to further protect the cable.FEP excellently resists water, acid, alkaline, degreaser solvents, and underground burial. It is outstandingly resistant to heat, oil, oxidation, low temperature, flame, ozone, and abrasion.
Characteristics
• FEP leads have outstanding chemical, fluid, age and ozone resistance.
• Fillers, where needed, are made with flame impervious fibers with moisture repellent finish.
• Cable utilizes Radix “Torque Free” design. This eliminates memory found in traditional right hand or left hand twisted cables.
• Small diameter.
