Description:
UF/NMC-B is Type UF cable which is an underground power transmission cable with two or three phase conductors. The cable may or may not be fitted with a ground wire depending on the type of application anticipated. The high ampacity of 600v and the copper conductor gives the cable optimum and stable conductivity, drawing high electric power over time.

The conductors are individually insulated and then an overall jacket is put to maintain the dryness required in underground environments.

Applications:
This Type UF cable is basically constructed for underground applications. It is applicable for both industrial and do-it-yourself home applications. Below are the applications;
• Underground power distribution
• Applications involving direct burial
• Used in wiring branch circuits below or above ground
• Wet and dry locations
• corrosive locations
• Cable trays
• Concealed and exposed interior wiring

Conductor:
• Fully annealed soft copper conductor; optimum and stable conductivity
• Available in two or three phase conductors
• A single ground copper wire or none at all

Insulation:
• Lead free Polyvinyl Chloride, PVC insulator
• Individual conductor insulation
• Dry insulator with water and moisture resistance
• Individual insulation with color codes for easy identification

Jacketing:
• PVC armor individual conductor jacketing.
• An overall PVC armor jacket
• The PVC jacket has excellent dryness with high resistance to water and moisture
• Good resistance to fungus and bites from underground organisms

Stranding:
There are two types of stranding used for Type UF cable;
• Compressed stranding technique; used for high flexibility applications.
• The solid wire technique; is preferred for outdoor hazardous ground applications because of its low surface area exposure.
