Product Details
An annealed tinned copper wire designed for high temperature environments. This wire has been coated with tin to improve its conductivity and thermal performance in high temperature applications. The tin coating on the wire helps boost its properties. It makes the wire last for longer than a bare copper wire. Since tin resists corrosion, it protects the wire from additional wear and tear which would make it lose its performance in the long run. Tin also does not oxidize, which also helps protect the underneath copper wire. Again, tin coating applied on the wire makes it desirable for soldering. In addition to that, the coating makes the wire resilient to breakage and lost connections and that’s the reason why this wire has improved conductivity.
Applications
• SAB-K wire constructed for use in high temperature applications where flexibility, resistance to mechanical abuse, and resistance to abrasion are needed.
• SAB-K is may be used above grade in raceway, tray, or conduit.
• SAB-S is designed for use in high temperature environment where flexibility, resistance to flame and resistance to heat are desired.
• The SAB-K multiple conductor control cable is used in locations like glass and steel plants. It is also used in steam lines, near boilers, and in chemical processing plants. The SAB-S multiple conductor has found usage in robotic applications. It is also used in power generating plants, glass and steel manufacturing plants and other high temperature environments.
Insulation
• Extruded silicone rubber
• A composite extruded silicone is used to insulated the wire. This insulation has intermediate fiberglass reinforcement. Silicone rubber has excellent oxidation resistance. It has an outstanding heat resistance as well as weather, sun resistance. Silicone also outstandingly resists ozone, and abrasion.
Outer covering
• SAB-K: Braided aramid K-fiber
• SAB-S: Extruded silicone rubber
• An outer jacketing made of braided aramid K-fiber is used to cover the SAB-K cable. This jacketing material has a finish resistance to flame, heat, and moisture thereby further protecting the wire from these elements. An extruded silicone rubber is used to cover the SAB-S wire meaning that the wire is protected against weather, oxidation, heat, ozone, and abrasion.
Characteristics
• Silicone formulations suitable for UV, ozone, moisture exposure.
• Fillers, where needed, are made with flame-impervious fibers with moisture-repellent finish.
• Cable utilizes Radix “Torque Free” design. This eliminates memory found in traditional right-hand or left-hand twisted cables.
• Binder tape is non-hydroscopic, non-wicking polyester.
• Suitable for applications to -60°C.
• Aramid K-fiber provides superior cut through and abrasion resistance.(SAB-K)
• Not recommended for outdoor use.
