Product Details
This Surprenant HTZR Military cable is made of soft annealed tin plated copper strands. The copper wire has been coated with tin to improve its thermal performance. In high temperatures, copper tends to lose its ability to counter oxidation and corrosion, but the tin coating makes the cable resistant to these elements. Tin also allows the cable to be easy to work on because it can be soldered easily. The cable’s conductivity is improved by coating it using tin.
Applications

Insulation
• Flexible extruded rubber insulation
• The insulation of this military ground cable is made using extruded rubber. Rubber insulation may refer to both SBR compounds and natural rubber and each of these is available in different formulas and used for different applications. The temperatures ranges may vary and while rubber has undesirable ozone and oil resistance properties, it is known for its good low temperature flexibility, good electrical properties, good alcohol, and water resistance as well as excellent abrasion resistance. Rubble is flexible, which makes it easy to work on the cable.
Jacketing
• Flexible cross-linked rubber jacket
• A cross-linked rubber is used to provide jacketing for the cable. Cross-linked rubber is formulated to allow flexibility and durability. The cross-linking of the rubber material makes it tough thus able to resist abrasion, cut through, and impact.
