This stranded tin coated copper or nickel plated copper wire is designed for applications in high temperature environments that demand high voltage. The tin coating reduces the corrosivity of the wire. Copper is widely used in electrical wires but at higher temperatures, it may oxidize. That’s why it is coated with a highly thermally performing metal to improve its thermal performance. Nickel coated wires can work better in higher temperatures where tin coated copper wires may fail. Nickel has a higher thermal performance compared to tin and silver. This lead wire is also intended for use in operations of up to 230 degrees Celsius. In addition to reducing corrosion, the coating with tin metal on copper wire ensures easy soldering. The nickel coated wire can be soldered, however, it requires use of special fluxes. Nonetheless, the nickel coated wire allows for easy welding.

Applications
• For use in high voltage connections and circuits in environments exhibiting high temperatures of up to 230 degrees Celsius
• Ideal for use in spark ignitors and lighting systems
• The wire can be used in applications that demand up to 10 KV power.
• This wire is used for wiring lighting systems, transformers, panels, generators, motors, and heating and cooling equipment. It may be used to wire equipment such as furnaces, range tops, and for gas ignitors.
• This wire is used as ignition wire or other similar applications in gas or fuel oil burners and gas ranges.

Insulation
• Extruded Silicone Rubber
• Insulating the wire using extruded silicone rubber protects it against steam, flame, chemical, heat, and UV light. It also offers protection against oxidation, water, as well as alkali. Silicone is durable and when used to insulate copper wires, it allows them to last for long while preventing premature damage that may be caused by chemical and environmental factors.
• Outer covering
• Braided fiberglass with a high temperature finish
• Fiberglass is resistant to chemicals, solvents, moisture, and flame. A high temperature finish on the outer cover ensure excellent thermal performance of the cable. It protects the cable against heat and flame.

Characteristics
• Silicone formulations suitable for UV, ozone, moisture exposure.
• Not suited for immersed applications.
• Suitable for applications down to -60°C.
• Silicone Rubber in extreme environments, exceeding rated temperature, leaves a non-conductive ash and retains excellent insulation properties.
