Product Details
The BFOU Hydro Carbon is a power distribution cable which is made of tinned and annealed concentric strands of copper conductors, insulated with a mica taped Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR). Conductors are twisted in pairs, triples or quads withnumerical printings and color coding for easy identification. They are wrapped with a polyester tape and a draining wire is laid on them, and screened by the polyester copper backed tape or armored with a tinned copper braided wire. The cable is sheathed with two layers for protection.
Features
1.Conductor
Annealed and tinned copper conductors improves the termination time during installation as well as the electrical conductivity of the cable. Annealing is the process of making the copper conductors softer and malleable rendering the cable flexible and easy to handle, whereas tinning is the process of coating the conductors with a thin layer of metal making them oxidation resistance thus adding to the protective aspects of the cable.
2.Insulation
Insulation and sheathing of this cable are made of flame retardant materials, which makes the cable withstand installations in areas prone to fires. They are halogen free. Armoring by tinned braided copper wire offers a superb protection from creeping, abrasion, wear and tear or any kind of deformations.
Applications
The cable is a preferred choice for installations in gas and oil drilling areas, to distribute power at voltages not exceeding 0.6/1 kV. It is also a desirable cable for use in areas vulnerable to fire.
