A conductor wire made using a nickel-plated copper material. This wire is made for use in high temperature environments. It is insulated and jacketed to offer optimal performance. The nickel plating on the wire allows the cable to be resistant to corrosion. It also ensures excellent thermal performance and a good electrical conductivity. When used in high frequency applications such as communication lines, it is able to reduce high frequency loss that tends to be experienced when signals are transmitted over long distances. Nickel coating offers high resistance to chemicals and solvent substances.
Applications
• High temperature environments- applications of up to 600 volts and operations of up to 250 degrees Celsius
• Commercial and industrial heating and cooking equipment
• The cable is used in wiring commercial food service equipment such as ovens, cooking ranges, and stoves. It may also be used in heaters and clothe dryers that also tend to experience high temperatures. Since the wire is able to resist chemicals and solvents, it tends to work well in applications that require chemical resistance such as in commercial kitchens for wiring appliances and equipment.
Insulation
• Extruded perfluoroalkoxy copolymer (PFA)
• The wire is insulated with an extruded perfluoroalkoxy copolymer (PFA). This insulation has high melt strength and thermal stability. The insulation material provides superior creep-crack resistance when exposed to high temperatures. Extruded perfluoroalkoxy copolymer (PFA) has an exceptional flame resistance and provides excellent low temperature toughness.
The jacket- Outer covering
• An outer covering made using PFA with braided fiberglass further protects the cable from high temperatures. The cover has high temperature finish to ensure the cable performs excellently in areas
• experiencing extreme heat. That’s why you find that the cable is used in commercial kitchen environments or other areas experiencing heat, flame, and high temperatures.
Characteristics
• Featuring small outside diameter, PFA offers optimum insulation for smaller applications at half the space of other constructions
• Mechanical toughness and low coefficient of friction of PFA allow "pull" installation of long wire lengths.
