The Longwall Mold-cured power cable is a Type SHD-PCG portable cable made of copper wires as per ASTM standards. Its three copper conductors are insulated with an Ethylene Propylene Rubber compound and bonded closely with three grouped control conductors, made of tinned and flexible copper conductors individually insulated with EPR colored in; black, white and red. It features a nylon braided insulation shielding, grounding conductor and an overall jacketing layer of a reinforced thermosetting mold-cured CPE for protection.

Features
Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR) insulation of this cable affirms its good electrical conductivity as well as keeping the user from electric shocks when handling it. Individual insulation of the three copper conductors creates a permanent boundary between them and the grounding wire, which acts as the neutral path. Live conductors and neutral wires should not get into any contacts as it may lead to power faults blowing up your equipment. EPR insulation is semi-conducting compound that will bar the user from experiencing unnecessary electric shocks when handling the cable especially during installation.

Chlorinated Polyethylene (CPE) jacketing layer of this cable is reinforced with a mold-cured thermosetting layer. This is the outer layer of the cable that offers a great protection to the cable from the punishing environmental conditions. It is mold-cured inhibiting fungal attack that may damage the cable as well as corrosive chemicals and deformations, hence improving the service life of this cable.

Applications
Tiger Brand SHD-PCG is a heavy duty cable intended to serve as a mining power cable at voltages not exceeding 2000V. It is applied in long wall shearers with an operational temperature rating at 90 degrees Celsius.
