Product Details
It features aluminum conductors insulated with the tree retardant cross-linked polyethylene after the conductor shielding. Conductor shield is made of a polymeric lead-free thermosetting semi-conductor that controls stress force acting on the aluminum conductors. TRXLPE insulation is also shielded by an extruded thermosetting layer to form the circular core. The assembly of this cable is again shielded with the bare copper wire, which is helically applied round the core holding the cable firmly to prevent overlapping. 35kV PVC Power cable as the name suggests is jacketed with the tough Polyvinyl Chloride compound.
Standards and Approvals
1.ANSI, ICEA S-97-682
2.AEIC CS8
3.UL 1072
4.UL IEEE flame test
Features and Benefits
Compressed Class B stranded aluminum 1350 conductors are malleable and soft, making the entire cable lightweight and flexible. Weight of the cable matter a lot especially during installation of the cable where there is need to lift and carry it along. You need lightweight cables like 35kV PVC Power cable because they will require less effort to lift and move them around. Flexibility is another aspect to consider before purchasing any cable. Aluminum made cables are flexible enough to bend and fold easily yet they still maintain their good electrical conductivity properties.
Shielding of electrical cables improves their efficiency; this is because they maintain clean interfaces inhibiting direct contact between the live conductors and the neutral wires. 35kV PVC Power cable is environmental friendly due to its lead-free thermosetting polymer layers that reduces less fumes to the environment in cases of fire outbreaks. Release of fumes to the environment leads to pollution effect and should be avoided at all costs, and 35kV PVC Power cable is the ideal cable of choice since it is lead-free.
The triple extrusion layers of this cable enhance smooth contraction and expansion of the cable, enhancing its performance in either wet or dry conditions. It has high dielectric strength that helps in limiting the rate of dielectric loss. 35kV PVC Power cable offers a self-nitrogen cure making it a desired power distribution cable.
When it comes to underground distribution cables go for 35kV PVC Power cables that are instilled with a superb TRXLPE insulation and the tough PVC for protection. Polyvinyl Chloride compound is non-biodegradable and will not get decomposed even when buried, this is because they are fungal resistant. PVC jacketing also keeps the cable from corrosive chemicals and mechanical damages. Mechanical damages refers to deformations that may arise as a result of creeping, abrasion or wear and tear. It is black color coded for easy identification.
Temperature Rating
35kV PVC Power cable is designed to serve in normal power lines at temperatures not exceeding 90 degrees Celsius. When deployed in emergency power distribution lines it operates at 130 degrees Celsius and at 250 degrees for short circuit wiring.
Applications
This cable is meant to serve in both wet and dry locations in three-phase cable applications to distribute medium power voltage.
