This cable comes in sizes 12 and 10 AWG with its conductors made of soft stranded annealed and tinned copper conductors in accordance to ASTM B 33. These conductors are wrapped with a separating tape and then insulated with a cross linked polyolefin (XLPO) as per IEEE 1580 standards, forming a circular core. The cable is jacketed with the flame retardant Chlorinated Polyethylene (CPE) meeting the standards of IEEE-1580-2010. Arctic Neoprene can also be used in jacketing it. It is armored with a braided bronze for protection, and sheathed with the outer thermosetting CPE.

Features
Conductor
Soft annealed copper conductors affirms its flexibility making it easy to handle and install. Annealing is the process of heating copper wires making them softer and malleable without interfering with its good electrical properties. Type P Multi Conductor cable, as the name suggests has multi copper conductors that are wrapped with a separating tape to hold them tight in their positions thus preventing them from overlapping, improving the electrical conductivity of the cable.
Insulation
The cross linked polyolefin layer is non-conducting keeping the user safe from electric shocks when installing the cable. XLPO ensures the copper conductors are not directly attacked by the harsh environmental conditions associated by corrosive chemicals, salts, moisture and deformations due to mechanical stress.
Jacket & Armor
This cable is jacketed with a flame retardant Chlorinated Polyethylene layer which offers an additional chemical and mechanical protection to the cable. It is armored with a tough braided bronze making a cost effective and self-supportive cable.
Sheath
It is sheathed with a thermosetting CPE that is applied round the armor making it a desirable cable for Class 1 Division 1 and as a Zone 1 in offshore locations. This cable has a cold bend of -400C enabling it to perform at wet locations without difficulty, and 1250C for higher ampacity levels.
Applications
This cable is intended to serve power lines at a voltage rating of up to 600V. Bostrig Type P Marine cable is meant for use in control, instrumentation, power and signal applications for offshore and land drill rigs, marine vessel, and offshore production firms.
