Type SHD-CGC cable comes in flexible tinned copper wires with a ground check conductor. The copper conductors are closely bonded with a ground check conductor that has a yellow color coded insulation; the tinned copper conductors are then insulated with an EPR. Ethylene Propylene Rubber insulation is shielded with a tinned copper and nylon braided layer and covered with a semiconducting stranded shield and taped. Non-conducting separating tape is again applied round the core to hold the conductors firmly in their position. A grounding wire is then laid on the assembly and jacketed with a CPE.

Applications
This cable is intended to serve in mining power distribution channels for voltages not exceeding 2000V at an optimal operating temperature of 90⁰C. It is installed in applications of loaders, conveyors, drills, pumps and equipment requiring ground checking conductor.
