Product Details
SRG-K and SRG-S are annealed tinned copper wires made to be used in high temperature environments. The tin coating improves the conductivity of the wires while at the same time reducing corrosion and oxidation. The cable is designed for operations exhibiting temperatures of up to 200 degrees Celsius and applications of up to 600 volts. Tin provides a cheaper option for coating copper wires especially those for high temperature applications.
Applications
• SRG-K is for use in high temperature applications where there is need for protection against mechanical abuse and abrasion.
• SRG-S is meant for use in high temperature applications where there is need for flexibility, heat resistance, and flame resistance.
• The SRG-K cable is widely used in high temperature locations such as near boilers, chemical processing plants, and steam lines. It is also used in both glass and steel manufacturing plants. SRG-S on the other hand is used in robotic applications, power generating plants, as well as steel and glass manufacturing industries.
Insulation
• Extruded silicone rubber-braided
• An insulation material made of extruded silicone with braided fiberglass cover is used on the conductor. The braid has a finish treated to resist flame, moisture, and heat. Silicone rubber provides resistance to ozone, weather elements like UV light, moisture, heat, and abrasion. An overall binder tape made of polyester is used to protect the insulation. Polyestertape is meant for shield isolation and helps protect the insulation. It also provides a thermal barrier between cable components. The toughness of polyester offer additional mechanical strength.
Outer covering
• SRG-K: braided aramid K-fiber
• SRG-S: Extruded silicone rubber with optional stainless steel wire braid armor
• The SRG-K wire is insulated using braided aramid K-fiber that has a finish treated to protect against flame, heat, and moisture. An extruded silicone rubber used on the SRG-S wire offer additional protection against moisture, heat, abrasion, UV light, and ozone.
Characteristics
• Silicone formulations suitable for UV, ozone, moisture exposure.
• Fillers, where needed, are made with flame-impervious fibers with moisture-repellent finish.
• Cable utilizes Radix “Torque Free” design. This eliminates memory found in traditional right-hand or left-hand twisted cables.
• Binder tape is non-hydroscopic, non-wicking polyester.
• Suitable for applications to -60°C.
• Not recommended for outdoor use.
• Aramid K-fiber provides superior cut through and abrasion resistance (SRG-K).
