Seacoast 16 AWG Multi Conductors Types C16XT, C16XTA, C16XTB and C16(OS)XT XLP insulation Cable

It is sized 16 in accordance to American Wire Gauge (AWG) and has four versions; C16XT, C16XTA aluminum armored, C16XTB bronze armored and C16(OS)XT. This Seacoast 16AWG power cable consist of multi conductors made of stranded bare copper conductors. Since it is meant to serve in marine environment where harsh conditions are experienced, this cable is insulated with a cross linked polyethylene and jacketed with the polyvinyl chloride layer. The cable has an operational voltage rating of up to 600V with a working temperature of 900C and approved by international standards organizations.

Features

1.Conductor
This cable is made of multi copper conductors that are stranded facilitating smooth electrical transmission.

2.Shielding
The Type C16(OS)XT comes with a polyester shield or an aluminum foil shield and a draining wire instilled under the jacket. Shielding of this cable offers an additional protection to the cable by preventing the copper conductors from direct impulse attacks, and keeps the conductors firmly in their rightful positions hence limiting overlapping, improving the electrical conductivity of the cable.

3.Insulation
Copper conductors of this cable have a cross linked polyethylene insulation creating a boundary between them and the draining wire. This is very important because conductors should not get into contacts with the draining wire as it may cause power surges. XLPE insulation improves the cable life since it keeps the cable away from both chemical and mechanical damages experienced during and after installation.

4.Jacketing & Armor
This cable is jacketed with a PVC, a flame retardant layer that withstands the punishing marine environment. PVC is a tough protective layer of this cable keeping it safe from flames, moisture, corrosive chemicals and deformations. Only Type C16XTB and Type C16XTA are armored with bronze and aluminum interlocking strips respectively. Armored Seacoast cables are more durable since they are heavily guarded from the harsh marine conditions, they are also cost affective for conduit system installations.

Applications
Seacoast 16AWG just like the cables discussed above, is also intended to work in offshore marine rigs. These cables cab be applied in control system wirings, communication wrings, electronics and indicating circuits. They uttermost performance in both wet and dry locations due to their wide temperature rating of up to 900C.
