Product Details

This is a tinned copper conductor designed for transit applications within marine environments. It is used to transmit data from various systems and other applications. The tin coat on the conductor improves conductivity, enhances the lifespan, and increases strength. The plating also reduces oxidation and corrosion. The tin plating minimizes wear and tear that is witnessed in bare copper wires. It allows the conductor to be resilient to breakage and prevents lost connections in data transmissions. The plating also makes soldering of the conductor easy at time of installation.

Applications
• For high-speed data transmission
• This conductor cable is widely used for data transmission in the marine environments. It transmits data picked from various systems such as communication equipment, smoke detectors, CO2 systems, tank level indications, gas detection equipment, and fire detection equipment to the data management centers.

Insulation
• Polyolefin
• An insulation material designed of polyolefin is used to protect the conductor. The insulation is free of halogen and does not release noxious substances or gases when subjected to fire or flame. This insulation material is resistant to fire, UV light, abrasion, and chemicals.

Jacketing
• Irradiated cross-linked polyolefin
• A jacket material made of irradiated cross-linked polyolefin is used to offer more protection to the primary insulator. This jacketing material is flame retardant and allows low smoke release. It is also resistant to other elements like UV light and chemicals.

Binding and shielding : A binding of polyester tape is applied on the conductor. An inner shield made of aluminum backed polyester tape is used to provide 100 percent coverage. On top of that, there is an outer shield made of tinned copper braids that provide 80 percent coverage.
