Product Details

This cable has a single conductor. Cables with one conductor are also referred to as a single-phase conductor, deployed in single-phased. 15-35kv Prysmian is made of compacted Class B concentrically stranded aluminum 1350 and annealed drawn copper. The single conductor is shielded with an extruded thermosetting semi-conductor, which forms a free strip from the conductor and it bonds to the insulation. This cable is insulated with an EPR that has a high dielectric strength and is also shielded with an extruded thermosetting semi-conducting layer offering a balanced electrical integrity and the ease of stripping. 

Insulation is covered with a metallic shielding, which is made of a non-magnetic copper tape helically applied over the insulation shield and wrapped with a separating tape. The assembly is coated with a strong Air Bag and compacted with a layer of Drylam made of aluminum tape acting as a chemical protector. It is jacketed with Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC); a free-lead compound.

Standards and Approvals
This type of prysmian cable is quality power cable that conforms to the following specification standards:

1.CSA - CSA C68.10
2.CSA - C22.2 number 0.3
3.CSA – C22.2 number 230

Conductor
The 15-35kV Prysmian cable is a single conductor made of aluminum 1350 or soft drawn copper conductor. Aluminum and soft drawn copper made cables are known to be flexible and lightweight. Lightweight power cables will relieve you from using excessive effort in lifting the cable especially during installation. Flexibility is a very important cable aspect that should be considered since they require less time to install as they can be folded easily into smaller portions as compared to stiff and rigid cables, which would even break when subjected to continuous bending.

Shielding
This cable has a triple shielding extrusions; conductor shield, insulation shield and the metallic shield. Shielding helps in controlling the amount of stress acting on the cable thus improving its electrical conductivity. It offers an additional mechanical protection to the cable. Thermosetting semi-conducting shields do not permit transmission of electrical power hence maintaining high dielectric strength.

Insulation
Insulation of this cable ensures that the safety of the user is not at risk and that of the cable as well. Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR) is a semi-conducting compound that will protect the user from unnecessary power shocks. The conductor is insulated with an EPR to protect it from mechanical and chemical damages that may attack the cable.

Jacketing
Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) jacketing provides an additional mechanical and chemical protection to the cable. It has an Air Bag that is strong enough to withstand crushing and abrasion, and with Drylam layer that is made of aluminum tape keeping the cable from chemical damages. This PVC is lead-free and thus environmental friendly as it releases less smoke in case of fire outbreak.

Applications
Prysmian 15kV-35kV Single cable is a dual serving cable that can perform in both wet and dry locations. It has a working temperature rating of -40 degrees Celsius as the cold bend up to 105 degrees Celsius. This cable is used in commercial and industrial applications of 15kV-35kV power voltage.
