Prysmian Low Voltage AIRGUARD™ Multi Conductor Power Cable 600V

A complete cable comprises of live conductors, neutral wire and an insulator and this Prysmian and Draka cable is not an exception. It comes as a Class B bare stranded soft drawn copper wires insulated with cross linked polyethylene (XLP) material, and then wrapped round with an extruded filler belt. Close to these conductors is a grounding wire intimately bonded to them, and is coated with an overall sheath of polymeric air-guard armor. The grounding wire is also made of soft drawn copper wires or Class B bare stranded copper conductors.

It is clear that the soft drawn copper conductors are insulated with XLP, whereas the grounding wire is left bare. This is to create a boundary between these live conductors and the grounding wire. Materials used in the construction of this cable are tested and approved in accordance to Underwriters Laboratory (UL) specifications such as:

1.ASTM B3 and B8
2.UL 44 600V and Flame Test IEEE 1202
3.UL 1277 and 2225 NEC Articles
4.ICEA S-82-658 as per NEMA WC70 of power cable ratings
5.CSA 22.2 No. 03 -40 degrees Celsius at cold bend etc.

Why go for this Cable?
It is made of soft drawn copper wires which are flexible. When it comes to choosing any power cable, flexibility is an aspect to consider. A flexible cable is easy to install and will not demand for excess effort to bend and fix in the corners of your power lines. You need a cable that is easy to install, a cable that will not leave you exhausted and tired.

This cable has a temperature operation rating of as low as -40 degrees Celsius. Meaning that it is readily available to serve your 600 volts power level at extreme cold bends without difficulty. Such a cable is recommended to serve well in the cold environmentsof the marine offshore.

XLP insulation prevent any contact between the live conductors and the grounding wire, hence improving electrical conductive of this cable. Insulation is very important as it keeps the user away from electrocution as well as preventing power blows that may arise in case the live wires and neutral wire get into contact. Marine offshore environment as pointed earlier, is very demanding and only a properly insulated cable like Prysmian and Draka Air-guard can withstand its chemical and mechanical damages.

Applications
Looking for an industrial low voltage cable to serve in your offshore wiring systems? Go for Prysmian&Draka Air-guard cable. It is designed for installation applications of the harsh offshore environmental conditions. Thanks to the adaptive Air-guard that is protective against armor breakages that may arise when installing it. This cable has a lower cost alternative as compared to MC-HL and is also much safer during installation and fast because of “no saw/no knife” preparation.
