HydroBloc cable is a shielded multi-conductor speaker and control cable, which is a desired choice for permanent installation for wet areas. It is made of a bare stranded copper conductors that are insulated with a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) wrapped with a nylon. A tinned draining wire made of copper is longitudinally laid on the conductors and jacketed together with an extruded PVC.

Conductor
The cable’s conductor measures 12 AWG through 18 AWG, and 9.93 mm through 9.02 mm in diameter respectively. Draining wire on the other hand is size 22 AWG, and tinned to improve its performance. Tinning of copper wire makes them oxidative resistant thus preventing them from corrosion by the industrial chemicals.

Shielding
An aluminum shield with a durability of 100% foil or Mylar® offers mechanical protection to the conductors. It acts a stress control and facilitates noise rejection as well as suppression. Shielding also maintains the circular core of this cable by holding the conductors preventing them from collapsing and overlapping.

Insulation
PVC and nylon layer ensures that the safety of this cable and that of the user is not violated. Polyvinyl chloride is water resistant and will keep the cable dry improving its electrical conductivity. PVC covered with nylon creates a permanent boundary between the conductors and the draining wire eliminating them from getting into contacts that would cause power surges. This layer is non-biodegradable and will not decompose even when subjected to direct burial hence improving the cable life. It is also non-conducting thus keeping the user from electrocution.
