Product Details
The 5kV Empowr cable is made of Class B compressed and concentrically stranded 1350 aluminum conductors. Electrical cables made of aluminum conductors are lightweight and extremely flexible, however they still have good electrical conductivity. The conductors are shielded with a thermosetting polymeric semi-conductor that is extruded and coated with an ethylene propylene rubber insulation. EPR insulation has an extruded semi-conducting shield and the copper wire shield, which is helically applied round the core and jacketed with the PVC. Copper wire shield is made of solid annealed bare copper tape and is used as binder tape.
Why go for this Cable?
Flexible and lightweight power cables are easy to handle and install because you will use less effort to lift them. Flexible cables will relieve you from incurring costs on termination tools since they are easy to terminate and fix in the corners of your wiring system. During installation, there may be need to chop the cable into small portions and fold them to reach the electricians high in the building: This is where flexible and lightweight power cables comes handy, making this Aluminum Conductor power cable an ideal cable of choice.
It comes with three different shielding layers; conductor shield, insulation shield and the copper wire shield. Shielding of electrical cables can either be braided or foiled. This mechanism of shielding helps the conductors to maintain their rightful positions hence preventing them from collapsing and getting into any contacts with each other. The extruded thermosetting semi-conductor shielding layers also acts as a stress control.
EPR insulation and PVC jacketing ensures that the safety of the user and the cable itself is optimized. EPR protects the user from experiencing unnecessary electric shocks and keeps the cable away from harsh environmental conditions, an aspect seconded by the polyvinyl chloride jacketing. PVC is a non-biodegradable compound that is fungal resistant, meaning that it do not decompose even when buried in the soil. EPR and PVC offers great protection against moisture, chemical and mechanical damages.
Applications
EmPower Fill cable is designed to serve as a dual purpose cable. This is because it approved to perform in both dry and wet conditions. It is a three-phase and medium voltage power cable applied in our residential buildings, industrial and commercial majorly installed through direct burial or duct system.
