MIL-DTL-24643/2 shipboard cables are low smoke, light weight, and flame resistance. They are the safest shipboard cables you can get and this is the reason the US Navy prefers using these cables for specific marine applications. These MIL-DTL-24643 cables are non-shielded andnon-water-blocked.

Applications

Insulation
Polyolefin insulation
The cables are insulated with polyolefin material. This insulation material protects the cable against damaging elements such as sunlight, fire, chemicals, and flame.

Jacketing
• Irradiated cross- linked low smoke polyolefin
• These MIL-DTL-24643 cablesare jacketed using cross-linked low smoke polyolefin. Polyolefin is fire retardant, it resists UV light, chemicals, and is light weight. It is also flame resistant and has excellent thermal resistance. Polyolefin is halogen free, and this means that when burned, it does not release poisonous gases.
