Product Details

This is a soft annealed tinned copper cable made for use in marine environments. The copper conductor is coated with tin to enhance its thermal performance, reduce effects of wear and tear, and strength the cable. The coating also prolongs the service life of the cable. Tin coating increase the level of conductivity and lessens the ability of the conductor to corrode and oxidize. Tin itself doesn’t oxidize. The tin plating allows the cable to be soldered easily and improves its effectiveness when used in humid areas.

Applications
• For in wiring freight cars
• This cable is made for use in freight cars installations. It is used both under as well as between freight cars in the marine environments.

Insulation
• Cross-linked Polyolefin (XLPO)
• A primary insulation made of cross linked polyolefin is used to protect the cable. This insulation material allows low smoke release and it is flame retardant. It also resists elements like chemicals, UV light, and fire.

Jacket
• Arctic-grade, heavy-duty reinforced Neoprene
• A synthetic thermoset rubber known as neoprene is used to provide a jacket for the cable. This jacketing material has supreme abrasion resistance, cut through resistance, and solvent resistance. It is well known for its long shelf life and can be used in wide ranges of temperatures. Neoprene is flame retardant as well as self extinguishing.

Shield : A tinned copper braid consisting of drain wire is used as a shield for the cable.

Features
• 125ºC rated Cross-linked Polyolefin (XLPO) insulation allows for routing through higher temperature areas. Insulation is also flexible and free stripping
• Tinned copper braided shield designed for significant EMI/RFI reduction
• Arctic-grade, heavy-duty reinforced neoprene jacket offers the lowest diameter for easier conduit pull and can be used in a ¾" conduit in lieu of 1".
• Excellent low-temperature performance suitable for installation in subzero conditions. Tough mechanical properties
• Optional galvanized or aluminum armor over the cable jacket allows for conduit-free installations providing significant installed cost savings
• Temperature range of -45ºC to +100ºC
