Description:
Type thhn wire is a durable cable specifically designed for strenuous power supply applications. It has a heavy duty jacket and insulation which are resistance to any form of stress applied to the cable. Apart from sturdy jackets, the thhn cable is a flexible wire thanks to its annealed copper conductors. Annealing is a process whereby copper is heated under controlled temperatures until it becomes soft and flexible.
Furthermore the conductors are cabled with fillers which strengthen the cable and give it a good shape. A strong tape holds the cable assembly in to place. The cable can support medium to light weight power supply applications since its voltage rating is 600 volts.
Last but not least the thhn wire can only operate in temperatures up to 90°C in both wet and dry conditions.

Insulation:
Type thhn wire has polyvinyl chloride insulation. It’s a tough material which is easily compatible with any environment. It protects the conductor from moisture, oil, sunlight, impact and abrasion. Furthermore it is resistant to high temperatures as long as it doesn’t exceed 90°C.
Jacket:
The jacket is made of heavy duty PVC material. Thhn wire jacket is designed to meet the requirements set by UL. It is resistant to moisture, oil, acids, chemicals, abrasion, impact, industrial solvents and sunlight. Lastly the jacket has several markings and measurements printed on it, which reduces the risk of wastage and guess work during installation.
