These missile cables are made of tin plated copper strands and are intended for use in military applications. The tin plating on the copper makes the cables to be able to work well in environments that exhibit high temperatures. They can be easily worked on because tin allows for easy soldering. Again, the use of tin as the coating material for the copper gives the cable good conductivity and resistance to oxidation and corrosion especially at higher temperatures. These cables are designed to ensure survival in the toughest environments. The cables are non-water blocked and they come in different forms including shielded and unshielded.
Applications
• For use in high temperature environments
• Missile cable types 20054, 20147, 20148, 20076 are used in wiring missiles and missile systems.
Insulation
• Various materials
• These missile cables are insulated with different materials for enhanced protection against fire, flame, and chemicals
Jacketing
• Various materials
• Depending on the type of construction, these missile cables may be jacketed using different materials to offer protection to the primary insulation against chemical and mechanical damage.
