These cables are made of three copper conductors that are annealed and stranded. Copper conductors features the EPR or XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene), grounding conductor and Chlorinated Polyethylene jacket for protection. It is designed with a temperature operating range of 90 to 250 degrees Celsius. This cable is tested and approved to conform to ICEA S-66-524, UL listed standards and MSHA.

Compared to 8kV and 15kV cables, the Type MP-GC-5kV cable is a lightweight making it the ideal choice as it requires less effort to lift and move around. Just like the cables discussed above, it is designed for high voltage power distribution in mines, shafts and mine load center applications. Type MP-GC-5kV power cable is installed through troughs, cable tray, ducts and direct burial especially for non-flexing service.
