This is a nickel-plated copper wire made to be used in high temperature environments. The high temperature wire is plated with nickel for improved performance. Nickel plated wires can resist continuous high temperature exposed, thermal shocks, and temporary extreme high temperature. In soldering the wire, special fluxes are needed because nickel is reluctant to solder. A 2 percent nickel plating in relation to the overall weight of the wire is used. The wire is used where small diameter cables are needed to save on space and allow easy usability.

Applications
• Ideal for use in industrial high temperature environments
• Used in applications of up to 250 degrees Celsius requiring up to 600 volts
• The FPA insulated multiple conductor cable works well in application that demand resistance to mechanical abuse, abrasions, fluid, and moisture. The wire is used in glass plants, steel plants, near boilers in high temperature environments, chemical processing plants, and in steam lines.

Insulation : An insulation made of extruded perflouroalkoxy is used to protect the wire. PFA is resistant to acid, water, alkali, degreaser solvents, and alcohol. It shows an outstanding resistance to oxidation, oil, heat, low temperature, ozone, abrasion, and UV light. It is also resistant to flame. A fiberglass braid cover is used in each insulated conductor and this braid is treated using high temperature and moisture resistant finish for enhanced protection of the wire. Overall blinder tapes made of PTFE fluoropolymer are also used to offer more protection against moisture.

Outer covering
• Braided aramid K-fiber
• A braided aramid K-fiber having a heat, moisture, and flame resistant finish is used as an outer jacket for the wire.

Characteristics
• PFA leads have outstanding chemical, fluid, age and ozone resistance.
• Fillers, where needed, are made with flame-impervious fibers with moisture-repellent finish.
• Cable utilizes Radix “Torque Free” design. This eliminates memory found in traditional right-hand or left-hand twisted cables.
• Binder tape provides additional moisture resistance.
• Aramid K-fiber jacket provides superior cut through and abrasion resistance.
• Not recommended for outdoor use.
