Product Details
Aluminum Conductor Alloy Reinforced (ACAR) is made from concentrically stranded wires of Aluminum 1350 on high strength Aluminum - Magnesium - Silicon(AlMgSi) composite center. The quantity of wires of Aluminum1350 and AlMgSi amalgam relies on upon the cable design. The utilization of ACAR is an extremely fascinating alternative to some exposed transmission and distribution lines. In spite of the fact that the general configuration includes a stranded center of AlMgSi composite strand, in certain cable developments , the wires of AlMgSi amalgam strands can be conveyed in layers all through the Aluminum 1350 strands.
Some of the ACAR designs may include alternative wires (1350-H19 and alloy 6201-T81) in the same layer.
ACAR has superior mechanical and electrical properties when contrasted with a corresponding ACSR, AAC or AAAC. A decent harmony between the mechanical and electrical properties means that ACAR is undoubtedly the best decision for a cable when your requirements are such that the ampacity, strength and light weight are the fundamental consideration of the line design. These conductors are widely utilized as a part of overhead transmission and distribution lines.
Product Highlights:
- ACAR has a moderate breaking load (Higher than AAC and lower than ACSR).
- ACAR has a great corrosion resistance (no steel wires).
- ACAR has a high transmission when contrasted with ACSR and AAAC.
- Excellent strength to weight ratio
- improved electrical characteristics
- ACAR is extensively utilized as exposed cable for overhead transmission and distribution lines and as a transport bar in substations where is very suitable considering the mechanical and electrical attributes.
Technical Standards:
B-230 Aluminum 1350-H19, extra hard, round wire for electrical purposes. The aluminum wire shall be made from drawing stock and shall be free of brittleness as evidenced by its ability to be coiled or looped around its own diameter with or without a mandrel.
B-398 Aluminum-alloy 6201-T81 round wire which are solution heat-treated, cold worked, and artificially aged for electrical purposes.
B-524 Concentric-lay-stranded conductors made from round aluminum 1350-H19 (extra hard) wires and round aluminum-alloy 6201-T81 (hard, solution heat treated, cold worked, and then artificially aged) core wires for use as overhead electrical conductors.
