Product Details
Aluminum Conductor Steel Supported AW Core cable is a composite concentric-lay-stranded conductor. Aluminum-clad steel strands come in either the AW2 for regular strength cable or in the AW3 for high strength cable. The center of the transmitter will have at least one layer of aluminum 1350-0 wire stranded around it and could possibly have more. The aluminum-clad steel center transfers most of the electrical load of the conductor because the tempered aluminum is completely strengthened and delicate. The center wires are shielded in Aluminum which not only protects them from corrosion but also adds strength to the cable.
Aluminum Conductor Steel Supported AW Core is primarily utilized for overhead transmission lines and distribution. It will work ceaselessly at high temperatures of up to 250˚C without losing any of its strength. ACSS/AW will sag less under heavy electrical loads than ACSR/AW. The less sag there is in a line, and because of that you need less cable to cover long distances. Thus, the ACSS/AW is also a prices conscious choice. ACSS/AW has strong attributes like ACSS, alongside marginally more prominent ampacity and imperviousness to corrosion because of the cladded aluminum of the steel center wires
