Conductor:
THHN THWN-2 conductors are constructed of annealed soft copper that follows ASTM B3 and ASTM B8 standards.
Insulation:
The cable is insulated with a thermoset plastic jacket (PVC) that is flame-retardant, sunlight-resistant, lead-free, strong, and stable. Without being too bulky, it ensures that the cable can be used in harsh conditions. The jacket is color-coded in accordance with ICEA Method 4.
This wire (3 AWG copper) in black and in red were used for the hot leads and 6 AWG copper was used for a ground wire per the spec of my Ford Charge Station Pro 80A (on a 100A breaker) electric vehicle supply equipment. I pulled it through 1" flexible PVC conduit and routed it through my attic from my panel to my garage. A high-quality product.
