Applications:
This cable is used in lightning protection systems as well as in grounding systems. In farm buildings, the damage can be even worse, destroying stored crops, killing livestock, and starting fires. The typical duty of this cable in a standard lightning protection system is to transfer a lightning strike from a metal rod placed on top of a building to the ground rod that is buried in the earth. This way, the intense voltage of the lightning is redirected harmlessly into the ground rather than absorbed into the building’s structure. This type of system is often used in farm buildings and other rural structures.
