USE-2 Aluminum conductors are insulated direct bury cable that consists of compact stranded Alumaflex® Aluminum alloy. This Aluminum alloy provides excellent conductivity while adding strength and resistance to corrosion for a long-lasting product. Aluminum XLP wire meets UL standard 854 for USE-2 conductors. This standard requires the cable to be resistant to sunlight and work efficiently in high temperatures. The cable is able to function in temperatures up to 90°C.
USE-2 wire is a service entrance cable that can carry up to 600 volts. Service entrance cables distribute power from the service drop to an individual residence or building. The USE-2 RHH RHW-2 Direct Burial Aluminum Conductor 600 Volts is designed for underground use in direct burial applications, or within an electrical raceway, typically conduit. Conduit is a tube or trough that contains the electrical conductors, protecting them from corrosion, sunlight, and other interferences. Conduit comes in a variety of materials, shapes, and sizes. The best type of conduit will vary depending on the task at hand and the weather and climate conditions of the region where it is to be installed.
