Description:
The aluminum single conductor URD cable is specifically designed for underground power transmissions. It is used for secondary transmission which involves toning down of current in a transformer to lower voltages which is a bit safer for residential houses. The aluminum single conductor cable has a one phase conductor which is capable of transmitting current of up to 600 volts. It has been incorporated with a trapezoid wire which reduces the cables circumference and gives it a compact size. This means that the cable is light, therefore it easy to work with.
Applications:
This secondary distribution wire is commonly used in residential settings. It is specifically meant for underground power transmissions this is resistant to rocky obstacles commonly found in these areas. Furthermore it can be used as a direct burial wire which involves direct insertion in to the soil with the use of a conduit or duct for protection. However its performance can be affected in these applications if the maximum temperature rating exceeds 90°C in both wet and dry locations.
Conductors:
The conductors are made of aluminum which are compressed at 1350-H19.
Insulation:
Aluminum URD cable has a cross-linked polyethylene insulation (XLPE) which can withstand high temperatures of up to 90°C.
Features:
• Robust and sturdy insulation
• It is resistant to high temperatures
• 600 volt URD cable
• Moisture and chemical resistant
Standards:
• ASTM B-230
• ASTM B-609
• ICEA S-105-692
• RUS ACCEPTED
