Flexible Hydroflex Rubber Submersible Pump Cable

Product Description:

The Hydroflex Rubber Submersible Pump Cable is a multiconductor cable that features soft bare, annealed rope-lay-stranded copper conductors.  The cable comes with the option of two or three phase conductors plus a ground conductor.  The annealed copper are rated Class K per specifications set by the American Society for Testing and Materials.  The benefit of Class K copper is the combination of annealed copper with rope-lay-stranded construction to create a flexible product.  The conductors are insulated with moisture and heat resistant ethylene propylene rubber (EPR).  The cable includes a soft bare, annealed copper rope-lay-stranded ground conductor which serves to ensure steady conductivity through the phase conductors.  Like the phase conductors the ground conductor is insulated with ethylene propylene rubber.  The insulated phase conductors and ground conductors are assembled in a parallel side-by-side orientation.  A black, extra heavy-duty thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) jacket covers the conductors.

Applications:

The cable’s flat construction allows this cable to be used in several types of heavy-duty applications.   The Flat Submersible Pump Cable 2 & 3 Conductor w/ Ground is typically used in fresh and salt water pump applications where there is a high risk of the cable being crushed or impacted.  The cable is approved to carry ampacities of up to and including 600 volts.  The cable is used in pools, fountains, and sprinkler systems.  It is also used in well casings or deep well wiring systems.  It can be used for indoor or outdoor applications and holds a maximum temperature rating of 90°C in wet or dry conditions.

Specifications:

-                In accordance with specifications set forth by the American Society for Testing and Materials, the conductive components meet or exceed ASTM standard B-172 which sets standards for flexible, rope-lay-stranded copper.

-                This product aligns with UL standard 62, a standard that sets the requirements for flexible service cords.

-                The copper components of the cable meet or exceed ASTM standard B-33; a specification for annealed copper conductors.

Construction:

-                Conductors

  • This cable features soft bare, annealed rope-lay-stranded copper conductors.
  • The annealed copper are rated Class K per specifications set by the American Society for Testing and Materials.
  • The benefit of Class K copper is the combination of annealed copper with rope-lay-stranded construction to create a flexible product.
  • The cable come with the option of two or three conductors.

-                Insulation

  • The conductors are insulated with moisture and heat resistant ethylene propylene rubber (EPR).

-                Ground Conductor

  • The cable includes a soft bare, annealed copper rope-lay-stranded ground conductor which serves to ensure steady conductivity through the phase conductors.
  • Like the phase conductors the ground conductor is insulated with ethylene propylene rubber.
  • The ground conductor is colored green for identification.

-                Assembly

  • The insulated phase conductors and ground conductors are assembled in a parallel side-by-side orientation.
  • The cable’s flat construction provides maximum crush and impact resistance.

-                Color Coding

  • The color coding for the 2 conductor plus ground cable is; black, yellow, and green.
  • The color coding for the 3 conductor plus ground cable is; black, yellow, red, and green.

-                Jacket

  • A black, extra heavy-duty thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) jacket covers the conductors.
