HF25 Indoor/Outdoor Loose Tube Dual Jacket Riser Cable Type OFNR, CSA FT-4
Product Description:
The HF25 optical fiber riser cable is characterized by its dual jacket design which gives it the durability that is required for use in harsh climates. The assembly comes with the option of 2-216 fibers and includes a dry loose tube with a Super Absorbent Polymer to soak up any internal moisture. The overall strength member of the cable is an aramid yarn that is coiled around the fiber assembly. An orange jacket that is UV and moisture-resistant, flame retardant material serves as the inner jacket. The outer jacket is composed with the same UV and moisture-resistant, flame retardant material but is a black color with sequential footage markings for reference. The cable’s maximum crush resistance is 500 lbs/in (875N/cm) and its Maximum Vertical Rise is 1,640ft (500m).
Applications:
This nonconductive riser cable is intended for vertical runs between floors as a backbone for voice or data communication lines. Although the cable is primarily for vertical runs, it can be installed in horizontal applications when used in compliance with NEC article 770-51(b) and 770-53(b). The dual jacket construction of the HF25 cable makes it a preferred cable for use in harsh environments. It is capable of operating in temperatures as low as -40°C and up to 70°C. It also offers excellent resistance to corrosive chemicals.
Specifications:
- This cable meets or exceeds all standards for UL and c(UL) listed type Optical Fiber Nonconductive Riser cable (OFNR).
- The cable passes the CSA FT-4 flame test, showing ability to retard flames up to 70,000 BTU.
- In accordance with ICEA S-104-696, this cable is deemed acceptable for installation in outdoor plants.
Construction:
- Fibers
- The cable comes with the option of 2-216 fibers depending on the desired rigidity and strength. Fibers are color coded per TIA/EIA 598B.
- Inner Jacket
- The inner jacket is composed of a UV and moisture-resistant, flame retardant material. The inner jacket is colored orange.
- Outer Jacket
- The inner jacket is composed of a UV and moisture-resistant, flame retardant material. The outer jacket is colored black.
